The Asante PCI adapters support the following TCP/IP protocol stack. The
installation instructions are provided in this file.
1. NDIS2 Driver Installation for PCTCP 3.0 in Windows 3.1
2. NetManage Chameleon (4.02,4.5) Installation with NDIS2 driver
in Windows 3.1
3. NetManage Chameleon(4.02,4.5) Installation with ODI driver
in Windows 3.1
4. NDIS2 Driver Installation for OnNet 1.2 and Windows for Workgroups
5. NDIS2 and NetManage with Windows for Workgroups 3.11
NDIS2 Driver Installation for PCTCP 3.0 in Windows 3.1
======================================================
This document describes configuring the AsantÇ PCI NDIS driver to work with
Microsoft Windows and FTP's PCTCP 3.0.
1. Start Microsoft Windows then select the File:Run command under Program
Manager to launch Run command.
2. Type the following in the window:
A:\SETUP with PCTCP disk #1 in drive A:
3. Click the Continue button in the first window.
4. At the "New Installation" window click the Continue button to use the
default "Express" installation.
5. Enter your Serial Number and Authentication Key.
6. Select your destination drive and path at the Destination Directory.
7. The "Network Card" window appears to select "Other NDIS Driver or
Updated Packet Driver".
8. Insert the AsantePCI Driver Disk in drive A or B then click the
Continue button then type the correct path: A:\WFW at the "Network Card
Driver Disk" window appears.
9. "Network Card" window appears showing "AsantePCI Ethernet Adapter" as
one option. Click the Continue button.
10. "AsantePCI Ethernet Adapter" window appears to select Interrupt (IRQ), Base
I/O Port (hex) and Base Memory Address (hex) with five additional buttons
on the right:Continue, Back, Exit, Additional and Help.
Click "Additional" if you want to change any of the following items:SIA Mode,
Max Transmit Buffers, Max Receive Buffers and Slot number.
Click "Continue" will pop up another window to enter information related to
TCP/IP:your IP address, subnet mask...click "Continue" here will bring up
"DNS Configuration" window for information related to HostName, Domain Name,
DNS server...
There is no need to setup IRQ, Base I/O and Base Memory Address for the
PCI adapters.
11. The computer will copy the appropriate files from the TCPIP disks to
your hard drive.
12. Restart the computer when the installation is done.
Below are sample files for CONFIG.SYS, AUTOEXEC.BAT, PROTOCOL.INI.

NetManage Chameleon (4.02,4.5) Installation with NDIS2 driver

This document describes configuring the AsantÇ PCI NDIS driver to work with
Microsoft Windows and Netmanage's Chameleon.
(1) PC environments : Microsoft Windows 3.1.
IMPORTANT: Make sure that the conventional memory is at least 550K
after window is loaded. Also setup the window display to
use VGA or 640x480 resolution.
1. Start Windows 3.1.
2. Run Netmanage's SETUP program.
3. Toward the end of the setup, the installation warns about modifying
SYSTEM.INI and WIN.INI (but it renames the originals to something else)
then it will start Custom to configure your computer.
4. At "Add" window select 'Ethernet0' as Name and click OK or hit Enter.
5. At "Hardware" dialog box select [Other] from the Vendor list
6. Enter ASANTPCI as the "Section Name".
8. Enter ASANTPCI$ as the "Driver Name".
9. Enter ASANTPCI.DOS as the "Driver File" then click OK or hit Enter.
10. Continue with configurations for IP address,Subnet Mask,etc.
11. Select Save from the File menu to save your configuration. A Custom
dialog box will appear for the SETUP program to install the AsantePCI
NDIS 2 Driver.
12. Insert AsantePCI Installation diskette in drive A and Enter
A:\WFW. This is the directory on the Installation diskette where
the SETUP program looks for the AsantÇPCI NDIS 2 driver.
13. Select Exit from the File menu and the SETUP is complete.
14. The following files will be either modified or created:
CONFIG.SYS, AUTOEXEC.BAT, PROTOCOL.INI, SYSTEM.INI and WIN.INI.
Before rebooting your computer, make sure that the files below
have the lines listed:

NetManage Chameleon(4.02,4.5) Installation with ODI driver

in Windows 3.1

This document describes configuring the AsantÇ PCI driver to work with
Microsoft Windows and Netmanage's Chameleon in ODI environment.
(1) PC environments : AsantÇPCI ODI driver has been installed for Novell
Netware operation.
IMPORTANT: Make sure that the conventional memory is at least 550K
after window is loaded. Also setup thw window display to
use VGA or 640x480 resolution.
1. Start Windows.
2. Run Netmanage's SETUP program.
3. Toward the end of the setup, the SETUP program should detect that ODI
driver has been installed and will not ask for driver installation.
This can be verified by clicking on Setup menu and observe that the
Hardware selection is grayed out.
4. Continue with configurations for IP address,etc.
5. Select Save from the File menu to save your configuration.
6. Select Exit from the File menu and the SETUP is complete.
7. Restart the computer.
NDIS2 Driver Installation for OnNet 1.2 and Windows for Workgroups
==================================================================
This document describes configuring the AsantÇPCI NDIS driver to work with
Microsoft Windows for Workgroups 3.11 and FTP's OnNet v1.2.
We recommend installing Windows for Workgroups 3.11 with the Network setup
first BEFORE installing PCTCP(please refer to the document INSTALL.DOC under
the directory \WFW on this same disk about this installation).
1. Start Microsoft Windows for Workgroups then select the File:Run command
under Program Manager to launch Run command.
2. Type the following in the window:
A:\SETUP with PCTCP disk #1 in drive A:
3. Click the Continue button in the first window.
4. At the "New Installation" window click the Continue button to use the
default "Express" installation.
5. Enter your Serial Number and Authentication Key.
6. Select your destination drive and path at the Destination Directory,
for example C:\ONNET.
7. The "Network Card" window appears to select "Other NDIS Driver or
Updated Packet Driver".
8. Insert the AsantePCI Driver Disk in drive A or B then click the
Continue button then type the correct path: A:\WFW at the "Network Card
Driver Disk" window appears.
9. "Network Card" window appears showing "AsantePCI Ethernet Adapter" as
one option. Click the Continue button.
10. "AsantePCI Ethernet Adapter" window appears to select Interrupt (IRQ), Base
I/O Port (hex) and Base Memory Address (hex) with five additional buttons

There is no need to setup IRQ, Base I/O and Base Memory Address for the
PCI adapters.
11. The computer will copy the appropriate files from the TCPIP disks to
your hard drive.
12. Restart the computer when the installation is done.
13. Upon restart launch Windows for Workgroups then select "Network Setup"
icon from Windows for Workgroups Network program group.
14. Select "Networks...". At the "networks" window select "Other" then
"Unlisted or Updated Network" radio button then click OK.
15. Type the destination directory where OnNet was installed at the "Install
Driver" window. For example: C:\ONNET then click OK.
16. "Unlisted or Updated Additional Network" window appears with "FTP Software
PC/TCP Network" as the only option:click OK.
17. Back at "Networks" window click OK.
18. Back at "Network Setup" window:select "Drivers...".
19. At "Network Drivers" window:select "Add Protocol".
20. At the "Add Network Protocol" window: select "FTP TCP/IP (TSR)" then
click OK.
21. Restart the computer.
Below are sample files for CONFIG.SYS, AUTOEXEC.BAT, PROTOCOL.INI, WIN.INI
